Home Remedies for Pet Health

We all have our own holistic home remedies for aches, pains and runny noses that we use on ourselves and our loved ones, but what about our beloved pets? I have an old, pooch who is having a hard time getting off the couch these days. It breaks my heart to see her getting old. This condition just started over the long cold winter months. The last couple of weeks she hesitates to go outside because of the 2 steps on our porch. I also have an adorable but very smelly little Pomeranian with dry itchy skin. She digs and digs until she's bald in spots. I'm sure many of us have dearly loved pets with conditions that can be minimized with the right treatment. So how about sharing our knowledge with each other? What kind pet health problems do you have and what are your home remedies? I am not suggesting we forgo the veterinarian visits, but if we can minimize them and get healthy results, why not? Please comment with your pet home remedies.

New Babies and Childhood Illnesses

My niece had a beautiful baby boy today. Dillyn Michael, 7lb, 15 oz. Lots of dark hair. I just love that new baby smell, don't you? Nothing smells sweeter, except perhaps that new Cadillac smell. Anyway, Ashlyn is Dillyn's big sister. Ashlyn has always been loquacious, amusing, too grown up. She called me one evening, which in and of itself was cute as she was just 4 years old. She said she had to call to tell me something really important. "Aunt Celene, did you know that when I was a little baby I was Black Toast Intollerate? That's where you are lergic to milk, did you know that?" I laughed hysterically at this dreaded disease! I'll be telling her kids that one some day. Of course she never really was Black Toast Intollerate. She just has a vivid imagination. Silly little monkey! If her new brother is anything like her, my niece has her hands full.
